2022 - 2025 Defensible Space Programs

Residential Chipping, Brush & Chip and Storm Damage Programs

The Mariposa Fire Safe Council (MFSC) is funded to provide residential brushing and chipping services that help homeowners meet California’s Public Resources Code (PRC) 4291 requirements. PRC 4291 focuses on reducing fuels within the 100-foot defensible space around inhabited homes and along access routes (ingress and egress).

These grant-funded programs are available only for inhabited residential properties. They do not cover fuel reduction work outside the 100-foot defensible space or on commercial or business properties. MFSC reserves the right to decline service when necessary.

To request service, visit the Programs tab and carefully review the Chipping Guidelines before submitting your request form. Please complete the form fully and click Send only once. A confirmation email or phone call will be sent once your request has been processed.

Our private contractor will contact you directly to schedule your service. Work is scheduled by geographic area, not by the order in which requests are received. We appreciate your patience as scheduling may be affected by current weather conditions.
